Sexuality, Gender, and Rights Institute (SGRI) is a transformative initiative dedicated to advancing sexual and gender-based rights in Nepal. The program empowers participants from diverse backgrounds—women, queer individuals, and marginalized communities—to challenge systemic discrimination and promote inclusivity. Through interactive workshops, legal education, and intersectional advocacy, SGRI equips individuals with the tools to address harmful practices, advocate for policy reforms, and create lasting social change. By fostering collaboration and understanding, SGRI builds a foundation for a more equitable and just society.

Key activities:

Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Advocacy: This program is dedicated to promoting sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) for women and queer individuals. We advocate for access to comprehensive sexual health services, conduct awareness campaigns, and provide educational resources that empower individuals to make informed choices about their bodies and health.

Cultural and Artistic Expression for Social Change: Through art, and digital storytelling, this program engages communities in conversations about gender, sexuality, and social justice. Using creative expression as a tool for advocacy, we encourage reflection, dialogue, and action in ways that inspire change while celebrating diversity and inclusivity.

Gender Based Violence Prevention: This program works to eliminate gender-based violence through education, advocacy, and systemic change. We engage with communities to raise awareness, push for policy reforms that protect individuals from violence. Our initiatives focus on creating safe spaces, building survivor-centered programs, and training local leaders to address and prevent GBV.

Policy Advocacy and Movement Building: This program focuses on engaging with local, national, and international stakeholders to influence policies that affect gender equality, human rights, and social justice. Through strategic partnerships and public campaigns, we advocate for changes in laws, policies, and systems that promote equality and protect marginalized communities.
