SIWA Project

Support Initiative for Women in Action (SIWA) Project focuses on strengthening community-based women’s organizations in Lumbini Province. By enhancing leadership capabilities, fostering feminist strategies, and ensuring sustainability, we empower women to create lasting changes in their communities. The program also addresses leadership transfer, youth involvement, and feminist knowledge production to secure the long-term success of these organizations. SIWA is a feminist accompaniment process working with community level women’s collectives in the area of feminist leadership, harnessing feminist agenda, building institutional strategy and self- led financial sustainability.
This 18-month feminist collaboration jumpstarts by identifying partner organizations working on advocacy on women’s rights and entrepreneurship. It is based on multi-generational engagement equipping community level activist with resources and opportunity of power sharing with in the feminist movement.
Partners go through a rigorous process of setting organizational strategies, building capacities on sexuality plotting ideas and resource generation on business development projects.
The collaboration ends with an adequately funded entrepreneurship project, and a robust feminist organisational strategy.

Project Objectives:
- Assist women led organisations in developing their organisational strategy;
- Co creates resources for economic sustainability of individuals and organisations
- Bridge capacities of organisation on feminist agenda leading to collective solidarity and
actions.
Key Activities:
Community Capacity Building: The Community Capacity Building program focuses on strengthening community organizations and grassroots leaders to create sustainable social change. Through workshops, training, and resource mobilization, we ensure that community leaders can continue the work of empowerment and advocacy, ensuring long-term, community-led solutions for gender equality and justice.
Youth Leadership Program: Youth Leadership focuses on equipping young people with the skills and knowledge they need to become advocates for gender equality and social justice. We provide training on leadership, feminist principles, and community organizing, creating the next generation of changemakers who can drive systemic change and challenge patriarchal systems.
Feminist Entrepreneurship: The Feminist Entrepreneurship program seeks to empower women and queer individuals to achieve economic independence and challenge patriarchal structures. By providing mentorship, resources, and business training, we foster entrepreneurial ventures that not only generate income but also contribute to shifting social norms and empowering marginalized groups.
