Sarita Kumari Dahal

An experienced Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) expert with over two decades of experience in the field. She is Mphil PHD scholar in Gender Studies and holds a Master’s degree in Rural Development from Tribhuvan University, a Bachelor’s degree in Law, and a Postgraduate Degree in Psychosocial Counseling from Nepal.

Throughout her career, Sarita has been deeply involved in providing training on gender-responsive planning and budgeting, conducting audits, and developing GESI strategies. She has held prominent roles, including serving as a GESI Expert for the Provincial and Local Governance Support Program (PLGSP) with UNDP, a Gender Analyst at UNFPA, and a Senior Program Coordinator at WOREC.

Sarita has also worked as a consultant and GESI Expert for various organizations, including the USAID Nepal Engineering Project, Asian Development Bank, FHI360, and Plan International Nepal. Her consultancy work has focused on developing training manuals, policies, and resource books related to gender and social inclusion.

Pushpa Joshi

Pushpa Joshi is a young intersectional feminist from Nepal with more than eight years of experience working and advocating on the issues of sexual and reproductive health rights, gender, sexuality, human rights, and safe abortion rights at national and international spaces. She is currently serving as the vice-chair at LOOM. Her engagement with the feminist movement is driven by her passion for challenging and changing the discriminatory structure and systemic oppression.

Sudeep Gautam

He has been working in Blue Diamond Society since 2012. He is Transman activist currently working as a human rights officer. A founder and president of Unity for change which was established on 2020 a first transman-led organization. He has been actively Working for LBT people regarding Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights as well as helping LBT youths for their sustainable livelihood and human rights. Additionally, he is a board member of Cruiseaids Nepal since 2020. He is treasurer at the Yuwa council board, treasurer at sexual and gender minorities Nepal (FSGMN), and treasurer at Loom Nepal.

Sanjita Timsina

Sanjita is an Intergenerational Feminist who believes in social transformation through gender equality and social justice. She has experience working with diverse communities and advocates for inclusivity and feminist ideals. 

Bhawana Rai

Bhawana Rai is a dedicated Human Rights Activist with over a decade of experience mobilizing communities and leading the Sex Worker’s Rights Movement. Based in Kathmandu, she has worked extensively at the grassroots level to identify and respond to violence, promote access to health services, and strengthen community-led responses for women facing systemic exclusion.

Her professional journey includes serving as a Peer Leader under UNICEF-supported projects, as well as working as a Paralegal and later as a Senior Program Officer. Across these roles, Bhawana has played a key role in field-based violence identification, legal awareness, and survivor-centered support, ensuring that women are informed, supported, and connected to essential services.

Committed to deepening her practice through academic grounding, Bhawana is currently pursuing studies in Sociology to further enhance her advocacy and service to the female sex worker community. Besides, she is also the Founder of Jeevan Jyoti Mahila Sangh (JJMS), a community-based organization led by and for female sex workers, working to advance dignity, rights, and collective empowerment.

Kailash Rai

Kailash Rai is a freelance researcher, editor, and mentor whose work focuses on gender justice, social inclusion, women’s rights, sexuality, and the politics of marginalization in Nepal. With more than a decade of experience in research and knowledge production, she works at the intersection of scholarship and advocacy, documenting lived realities and amplifying voices often excluded from mainstream discourse. She is the author of Indigenous Women’s Institutions, Movement, and Writings (2017) and has edited several notable publications, including In Search of IdentityStruggle for RecognitionExperiences of the GrassrootsElected Indigenous Women Representatives 2079, and the co-edited volume Relay Race for Equality. Her research articles and opinion pieces, centered on gender, feminism, sexuality, and identity politics, have appeared widely in journals, edited volumes, newspapers, and digital platforms. From 2002 to 2014, Rai worked at Martin Chautari, where she contributed extensively to research, writing, editorial initiatives, and public intellectual engagement. She holds an MA in Political Science from Tribhuvan University.

She is also a member of the editorial team at The Commons Nepal, a research-based digital platform dedicated to promoting critical thinking and accessible public scholarship in the social sciences, arts, and humanities. In addition, Rai is a co-founding member of Indigenous Without Borders (IwB), a collective of researchers and civic activists from Indigenous backgrounds working collaboratively to advance Indigenous knowledge, solidarity, and justice. Through her writing, editing, and mentorship, Rai continues to contribute meaningfully to conversations on rights, representation, and social transformation in Nepal.

Bishnu Neupane

Bishnu Neupane is a feminist activist, writer, and human rights advocate with more than two decades of experience working at the intersection of women’s rights, social justice, and community empowerment. Beginning her career at WOREC, she contributed to publications, advocacy campaigns, and documentation that amplified women’s voices across Nepal. As one of the founding members of LOOM, she played a key role in shaping the organization’s early vision, strengthening intergenerational feminist dialogues, and supporting institutional growth. Her leadership extends across national networks such as NAWHRD and the Human Rights Alliance, as well as diaspora communities in the United States through the Association of Nepalese in Midwest America (ANMA) and the Chicago Friendship Society. With strong expertise in facilitation, feminist leadership, organizational development, and documentation, Bishnu has authored numerous articles on women’s rights, gender-based violence, migration, peace, and political participation. Recognized by ARROW in 2018 as one of the “100 Women to Mark 100 Years of Women’s Resistance,” she continues to champion community-led change, contribute to feminist knowledge building, and guide LOOM’s strategic direction with clarity and commitment.

Jenisha Maharjan

Jenisha Maharjan is a composed and supportive young feminist who is deeply committed to the process of creating meaningful change in her community. With a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Social Work, she has developed a robust understanding of social issues and remains dedicated to applying her knowledge to effect positive transformation. Her approach is marked by a steadfast adherence to the process of project development, ensuring that initiatives are thoroughly executed to achieve impactful results.

Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Jenisha continues to build on her academic foundation while advocating for youth leadership. She firmly believes in the potential of young people to drive substantial change and shape a better future through active engagement and leadership. Outside of her professional and academic endeavors, Jenisha finds joy in exploring diverse cuisines and enjoys long walks and trekking in the mountains, which offer her both relaxation and inspiration

Naresh B.K

Naresh B.K is a dedicated finance and admin professional with over 4 years of experience in grant management, budgeting, procurement, and financial reporting. Currently working at LOOM Nepal, he has supported donor-funded projects across various NGOs, ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and effective resource use. Known for his detail-oriented approach and adaptability, Naresh is committed to financial transparency and community-focused development.

Simrik Shrestha

Simrik, a Communications Officer at LOOM, also pursuing her Executive MBA, brings over 7 years of experience in communications, blending her expertise in Communications, GESI, MEAL, and Brand Management to create compelling narratives that amplify marginalized voices. With a strong background in research, a passion for Technology, and a focus on Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC), she is committed to driving community development and professional growth.

Simrik strongly believes in the power of digital media to amplify advocacy efforts and envisions a world where everyone’s unique narrative is heard and respected. Her work is guided by her dedication to communication as a tool for change, breaking barriers through dialogue.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Simrik is passionate about mental health, promoting a culture of listening, understanding, and sharing stories to foster connection and support. She enjoys arts and crafts, singing, writing, and exploring nature to enhance her creativity and well-being.
